2023: GO! reaches 10 million shipments
GO! Express & Logistics ended 2023 on a successful note with stable growth of just under 4 per cent. In its anniversary year of 2024, the quality leader in the CEP market will focus on network expansion, stability and security:
- the mid-market provider of express and courier services has broken the 10-million-shipment mark
- unmatched delivery rate of 99.43 percent, mostly on the first delivery attempt
- low damage rate of 0.02 percent
- anticipated turnover in 2023: € 375 million
- outlook for 2024: 40 years of GO!
Bonn, 22 January 2024. GO! Express & Logistics kicked off the new financial year with customary reliability, quality, flexibility and speed as it looks ahead to its 40th anniversary in November 2024. And the group is growing: the Netherlands, which was previously served by a partner, will benefit from a new proprietary GO! national subsidiary that is due to open in the second quarter of 2024 (starting 1 April 2024). To enable optimum capacity utilisation, the expansion of the regional HUB in Gera was stepped up a gear in 2023 and is due to be completed in the first half of 2024. By constantly optimising transport links and continually connecting additional lines, the eastern sorting centre can unlock its full service potential. ‘We’re a stable partner in uncertain times. With us taking care of their logistics, our customers can focus entirely on their core business,’ says Martina Baerecke, Managing Director of GO! Express & Logistics Deutschland GmbH, in summary.
2023: stable growth despite a challenging economic situation
Financial year 2023 was a successful one for GO! Express & Logistics. The partner network carried more than 10 million shipments (2022: 9.7 million shipments). With an unmatched delivery rate of 99.43 per cent, mostly on the first attempt, and a simultaneously low damage rate of 0.02 per cent, GO! proved once again that service and quality are the top priority for its around 1,400 employees and more than 1,700 drivers and couriers. Consequently, the association stands to generate a combined turnover in excess of € 375 million.
Highlight at the end of the year: firework shipments
The GO! system handled some 400 tonnes of pyrotechnic articles for New Year’s Eve, with 260 tonnes passing through the central HUB in Niederaula, Hesse, alone. Sorting was handled on 27 December and the firework shipments were delivered to retailers and private households across Germany on the three working days from 28 to 30 December.
Under German law, class II fireworks may only be sold to private individuals on the last three working days of the year. All fireworks shipments were handled by special shifts away from standard business operations. The team consisted entirely of staff and couriers who are trained in handling dangerous goods.
Tailored logistics solutions for any challenge
Business customers from sectors such as healthcare, high-tech, food &[TK45-1] lifestyle, media, animal transport and retail / wholesale make up around 90 per cent of the mid-market company’s customer base. In the healthcare segment, GO! delivers items such as hip joints, pacemakers and the like to wherever they are needed – making sure they are delivered in good time for the scheduled operation. Other goods typically carried by the flexible transport company include valuable equipment, special patient nutrition that needs to arrive in time for palliative care, or documents and bid packages. ‘We find the perfectly tailored solution for every customer – and our couriers are highly motivated and service-orientated. For example, if the customer so wishes, the courier will wait so they can take the signed documents right away with them again,’ explains Martina Baerecke.
GO!’s extensive network ensures an overnight service to all European economic centres. Deliveries to any key international commercial centre can be made within 48 hours, and to almost any destinations worldwide within three to four days.
