GO! adjusts prices as of 1 February 2023
From 1 February 2023, GO! Express & Logistics will increase its prices by an average of 8.9 percent. This is the company's response to the high inflation rate and increased personnel costs, and its investments in the vehicle fleet, personnel and infrastructure will ensure delivery quality and thus the reliable supply of its customers.
The price increase affects national and international prices as well as additional services. "The continuing burden of high inflation with unpredictable cost increases continues to impact along the production process and supply chains. Additional costs for the maintenance and modernisation of our fleet, the purchase of materials and services of any kind, personnel, technical investments or the maintenance of real estate including energy supply therefore make a price adjustment inevitable," explains Ulrich Nolte, Managing Director of GO! Express & Logistics Deutschland GmbH.
Rising overheads
Increased energy costs, for example for electricity and fuel, and the high rate of inflation have a massive impact on logistics costs and affect processes at GO! The cost of funds for operational security and maintenance is also rising faster than inflation and continues to be affected by the impact of the Corona pandemic on global supply chains. This relates, for example, to the continuous rise in the price of new and used vehicles, as well as property maintenance and expansion, among other things. Furthermore, regardless of cost increases, GO! attaches great importance to good technical equipment for employees and sorting centres in order to ensure a smooth process flow and optimal customer service.
Investments in human resources and sustainability
There is another major challenge associated with securing and attracting skilled labour. The continuing productivity growth in the CEP industry will lead to additional labour requirements in the long term. In order for a medium-sized company in the CEP sector to be able to hold its own, it needs to invest more in human resources, including recruitment, training and retention.
GO! is also committed to achieving a balance between economic business operations and ecological management. The company emphasises investments in measures such as alternative drives, photovoltaics and energy-efficient lighting management, as well as paying special attention to the intelligent management of logistics flows. Routes are continuously checked and, if necessary, adjusted to further reduce the line network kilometres travelled per package. Modern technology supports the staff and couriers with highly complex route optimisation for sustainable route management.
"It is important to us to provide our employees and couriers with the best possible equipment in every respect, because they are an indispensable building block of our service promise as well as our quality standard. The health of our employees is the backbone of our group of companies," emphasises Ulrich Nolte.
