GO! Express & Logistics continues to grow
Specialist in express deliveries records growth of 10% for third year in succession
- Shipment volumes of over 5.5 million deliveries per year
- Multi-million euro investment in station and hub expansion
- International partnership expands global network
Bonn, 6 August 2016. The express and courier service provider GO! has continued its profitable growth course for the third year in succession. Shipment volumes again rose by 10% compared to the previous year, significantly above the industry average of around 5.5%. The logistic expert transports around 5.5 million shipments in Europe per year. All partner companies of the GO! Group in Europe are expecting to generate record revenues of well over €300 million for the current financial year.
Growth in the medical technology, pharmaceutical and high-tech industries has been particularly positive. "We are proud to have gained market share in these areas, as they require a very high level of reliability and flexibility on the part of the service provider," explains Ulrich Nolte, managing director of GO! Express & Logistics (Deutschland) GmbH. "We will continue to build on our strengths in the future – our damage and loss rates of around 0.02%, high investment and expanding our presence in growth markets," says Nolte. To gain further market share internationally and impress its customers with GO! quality features, the company will enter into a cooperation with a prestigious international partner.
High investment in infrastructure expansion
In order to ensure consistently high standards with increasing shipment volumes, GO! is investing over ten million euros in the expansion and renovation of its stations, the central HUB in Niederaula, Hesse, and the regional HUBs in Cologne, Heilbronn and Hanover. A new regional HUB is also being set up in Gera. GO! handles overnight deliveries through its decentralised HUBs. This approach ensures flexibility in route planning, reduced transportation routes and scheduling reliability. The renovation of the Munich office was commissioned last year. Investment of around €4.5 million was provided. Further new buildings and renovations are planned in locations including Hamburg, Essen, Zurich, Graz, Hanover, Osnabrück and Salzburg, while other projects have already been completed.
Network optimisation saves time and helps the environment
Increasing traffic volumes in urban areas in particular and the associated environmental impact are presenting increasing challenges for express and courier services. GO! Express & Logistics therefore strives to continuously improve the utilisation of its vehicles and network optimisation. Shorter transportation routes and fewer empty trips lead to a significant reduction in exhaust emissions and traffic volumes. Consequently, a new software solution will be introduced next year, which will further optimise the 1,000-1,200 trips taken each day in Germany alone and thus contribute to environmental protection. GO! is also intensifying its e-mobility solutions for urban deliveries. Initial pilot tests with electric vehicles, e-bikes and cargo bikes have proven successful, so this segment will be expanded as soon as possible in the future.
